Residents Are Called to Express Their Opinions on Four Detailed Plannings

Public discussion on the 1st draft of the detailed planning for the Torņakalns Administrative Centre territory was started on November 23. The next public discussion meeting will take place at 17:00 on 9 December in the Riga City Council Assembly Hall at Rātslaukums 1.

Two discussions will take place at Rātslaukums 1, Room 511, within the framework of the planning process. The first will be held at 10:00 on 27.11.2009 – on the development of educational and cultural objects in Torņakalns, followed by a second public discussion at 10:00 on 04.12.2009 – on the development of traffic and engineering communication infrastructure. A separate meeting with residents of Torņakalns is also planned during the public discussion phase. Further information will be provided at www.rdpad.lv and www.apkaimes.lv. Public discussions on the 1st draft of the detailed planning will take place until 21.12.2009.
Materials contained in the 1st draft of the Detailed Planning can be viewed until 21.12.2009 at Riga City Council, 3rd Floor, Rātslaukums 1; Riga City Construction Board Client Service Centre, Amatu iela 4; Riga Pārdaugava Executive Directorate Hall, Eduarda Smiļģa iela 46; the Latvian Railway History Museum, Uzvaras bulvāris 2/4, as well as on the Internet at www.rdpad.lv under the Public Discussions section.

Written proposals, addressed to the Urban Planning Board of the Riga City Council City Development Department, can be sent by mail or submitted to the Client Service Centre of the Riga City Construction Board at Amatu iela 4, Riga, LV-1050, or at all Riga City Council Visitor Centres until 21.12.2009. Opinions and proposals can also be submitted online via the www.riga.lv webpage under the E-Services, Public Discussions section.

The Riga City Council City Development Department has also called for participants in a specially arranged poll on the further development of the Torņakalns Administrative Centre territory. Five questions have been included in the questionnaire along with replies on possible solutions from various specialists in the process of detailed planning elaboration. All interested parties are invited to reply to questions on the development of various functions of the detailed planning territory. Questions refer to required public transport links to be developed in the direct vicinity of the Torņakalns railway station in order to establish a public transport hub; retaining and development of the Latvian Railway Museum in Torņakalns and planned public external area elements. The questionnaire is available at all places accepting written proposals and on the www.rdpad.lv home page starting from 25 November.

The 1st draft of the detailed planning for the Vecāķu prospects territory opposite Ķīļu iela will be presented for public discussion until 8 December. The public discussion meeting will take place at 17:00 on 3 December at the Ziemeļblāzmas Branch of the Riga Central Library at Ziemeļblāzmas iela 36.
It is anticipated that private houses will be developed at Vecāķu prospect opposite Ķīļu iela. The 1st draft of the detailed planning can be viewed until 08.12.2009 at the Riga City Construction Board Client Centre, Amatu iela 4; the Riga Northern Region Executive Directorate, Rūpniecības iela 21; the Ziemeļblāzmas Branch of the Riga Central Library, Ziemeļblāzmas iela 36 and on the Internet at www.rdpad.lv under the Public Discussions section.

The detailed planning has been elaborated by SIA Ekoloģiskais Fonds.
On 24 November the opinions of residents was also gauged on the detailed planning in Dreiliņi, between Kaivas iela, Augusta Deglava iela, Ēvalda Valtera iela and Dzelzavas iela.
Complex construction with mixed usage is expected to take place in Dreiliņi, between Kaivas iela, Augusta Deglava iela, Ēvalda Valtera iela and Dzelzavas iela. It is planned to arrange a shopping centre and other commercial facilities in the central part of the section, while simultaneously ensuring provision of the required engineering communications and transport solutions for the territory. Written proposals and comments concerning the detailed planning elaboration addressed to the Urban Planning Board of the Riga City Council City Development Department were accepted from 09.11.2009 to 24.11.2009 by mail or in person at the Riga City Construction Board Client Service Centre, at Amatu iela 4, Riga LV–1050, telephone +371 67105800.
In accordance with the Riga Territory Plan for 2006 – 2018 with amendments, the planned (allowed) usage of the territory is mixed construction with residential functions, residential construction and greenery territory.

Public discussion of the 1st draft of the detailed planning for the Latvian Riflemen Square took place up until 25.11.2009. Materials can be viewed at Riga City Council, Rātslaukums 1, 3rd Floor; the Riga City Construction Board Client Service Centre, Amatu iela 4; the Latvian Riflemen Square, as well as in the Internet at www.rdpad.lv under the Public Discussions Section.  Written proposals on the 1st draft of the detailed planning closed on 25 November. Opinions and proposals were accepted online at the www.riga.lv webpage under the E-Services, Public Discussions section.
