On Construction Processes in the City of Riga in March and April

In March and April this year 656 construction projects, which anticipate the starting of new construction, reconstruction, renovation and engineering works, have been approved and accepted by the Riga City Construction Board. In March and April the Riga City Construction Board issued 280 construction permits.  The amount of commissioned objects in March and April is 140. In all 32 detailed plannings are currently under elaboration.

In March and April 656 construction projects were approved and accepted by the Riga City Construction Board. The largest amount of the approved and accepted construction and engineering projects were in the Latgale Urban District – 143, in the Zemgale Urban District -138, in the Northern Region -124, in the Vidzeme Urban District – 116, in the Kurzeme Region – 81, and in the Central Region – 54 construction and engineering projects.

The largest approved and accepted construction projects in March and April are: the commercial warehouse between the Gogoļa, Nēģu and Pūpolu ielas, the office and warehouse complex at 448 F Maskavas iela, two blocks of flats with rent and social flats at 52 k-1 and k-2 Ilūkstes iela, the multi-storeyed blocks of flats at 5/7 Sniega iela, 57 Stirnu iela, Pīļu iela, Rēzeknes iela and 1 Čiekurkalna 7.šķērslīnija, and the complex of multi-storeyed blocks of flats at 11/23 Ūdens iela.

The projects approved at the sketch stage are: the multifunctional office premise on Strautu iela and Ulbrokas iela, the SMP Pharmaceutical Company building on Ulbrokas iela, the newly built shops and office premises at 1 Rēzeknes iela, the newly built shop on Platā iela, the multistoreyed block of flats at Mārcienas iela, the complex of low-rise blocks of flats with an underground car park at 1a Kokneses prospekts and many other projects.

In March and April the Riga City Construction Board issued 280 construction permits:  in the Northern Region – 53, in the Zemgale Urban District – 32, in the Latgale Urban District – 29, in the Vidzeme Urban District – 18, in the Kurzeme Region – 17, and in the Central Region – 7 construction permits. 124 construction permits were issued for arranging engineering structures.

In March and April 140 construction facilities were commissioned in the City of Riga. The largest amount of the commissioned facilities were in the Vidzeme Urban District -37, in the Northern Region – 28, in the Latgale Urban District – 22, in the Kurzeme Region -19, in the Central Region -18, and in the Zemgale Urban District – 16 construction facilities. Such facilities are taken into operation as the newly built 1st stage of the Bank facility at 7 Vesetas iela, the 1st stage of the expanded-clay concrete production plant at 6 Daugavgrīvas šoseja, the warehouse building with commercial premises at 25 e Ganību dambis, the multi-storeyed blocks of flats at 12 k-2 Ulbrokas iela, 100 Jūrmalas gatve, 17 k-1 D.Brantkalna iela, the residential building with a household premise at 53 Čiekurkalna 2.līnijā, residential buildings on Traleru iela and Vižņu iela, and many other objects.

In March and April 403 confirmation cards were submitted to the Riga City Construction Board for performing simplified renovation/reconstruction work, of these 272 applications were received from private persons and 131 from legal entities.

Altogether 32 detailed plannings are currently under elaboration, including the 1st wording of the detailed planning of the Latvian National Library and the Acoustic Concert Hall with the adjacent territory, detailed planning for the territory between Pērnavas iela, Strenču iela and the railway circle, the Mangaļsala detailed planning, etc.

According to the currently available information on non-observance of the construction regulations, i.e. starting unauthorized construction and deviations from the approved projects, in all 57 administrative protocols were drawn in March and April. The Administrative Commission imposed fines in the amount of LVL 50 – 4,500. The total amount of penalties for the made violations is LVL 43,800.
