The Riga city 3D model elaboration tender continues

The open tender “Depiction of Riga city area and buildings in the three-dimensional model” announced by the Riga City Council City Development Department shall continue until 15 January 2008.

The aim of the tender is to obtain the best digital three-dimensional Riga city model, which would be useful in the work of the Riga City Council City Development Department as well as in the evaluation of the Riga city space structure development and also for the presentation needs of Riga City Council.

It is planned that after the development of the 3D model, for the benefit of the city planning, the construction objects in the construction stage as well as those coordinated with the Riga City Council institutions shall be placed in the digital model. In the event of the new construction proposals the architects and the city planners shall receive an opportunity to place the planned construction volumes in the model, as well as to create photocompositions.

The three-dimensional model of Riga shall provide the officials of Riga City Council with objective information for decision-making the approval of the new construction projects, or the request to revise the project so as to improve the architectonical image of the city environment. The three-dimensional model can also be used as the basis for the execution of a city planning and architectural physical model in different scales and of various materials.

The regulations of the tender are available in the Riga City Council City Development Department at 4 Amatu iela, office 414, on working days. The applicants can submit their proposals until 15 January 2008, 10:00.
